The time has finally come! Selena Gomez launched her highly anticipated Rare Beauty line on Thursday, September 3 — and it’s even better than we imagined.
The collection is made up of 20 light pink-packaged products — so many, that it’s divided into four main categories: face, lips, eyes and tools. The impressive lineup ranges from 48 shades of foundation and concealer to liquid blush and highlighter.
Think that’s a lot? Well, the line also includes eight shades of Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, eight shades of With Gratitude Dewy Lip Balm and 12 different Lip Soufflé Matte Lip Cream hues. To make the endless options even more exciting, all of the products have feel-good shade names like Grateful, Thankful and Blessed.
Prices range from $5 for a refill of face blotting sheets to $29 for foundation. Gomez’s fans are excited about the collection’s price point. “Rare Beauty is affordable and so up my alley,” one person tweeted. “I love Selena. She killed it.” Another wrote, “All of Rare Beauty is so affordable omg I can not wait to order.”
“I’m so excited to release beauty products that not only feel great, but also celebrate what makes each of us rare,” said Gomez in a press statement in time with the launch. “These products aren’t about being someone else, it’s about being who you are, whether that’s rocking a full face of bold makeup or barely any makeup at all.”
“Makeup is something to enjoy, it’s not something you need,” she added. “I want every person to feel beautiful exactly as they are.”
The 28-year-old’s been teasing fans with the cosmetics line for months now, after announcing it for the first time back in February. She filed a trademark for the brand in July 2019.
Ahead of the brand’s launch in July, the Disney Channel alum introduced fans to her give-back initiative: The Rare Beauty fund. Its purpose is to help individuals in underprivileged communities gain access to mental health services and support. 1 percent of all sales will be donated to these efforts and the brand pledged to donate $100 million over the next ten years.
